BB Stroke

What is BB Stroke?

BB Stroke, is a semi-permanent eyebrow shading technique. This method utilizes a patented device equipped with various arrays of needles arranged in a curved direction to simulate natural hair. Since the powder-stroke effect is achieved quickly and effortlessly, this technique is ideal for creating patternless brows, representing the most natural possible imitation of real eyebrows. This non-invasive method causes no bleeding or pain and is suitable for all skin types.

How much pressure is applied to the skin?

The more needles used, the greater the pressure required on the skin. Hairstrokes, typically done with a single needle, require the least amount of pressure. Microblading requires slightly more pressure but is relatively similar to BB Stroke, as BB Stroke also incorporates a vertical impact.

How long does the treatment take?

The duration of the treatment always depends on the artist's skill and experience—the more experience, the shorter the treatment time. However, the BB Stroke technique, with its higher number of needles and the simplicity of creating curved strokes, is by far the quickest method for completing a treatment.

Is the BB Stroke technique safe?

Every method creates changes in the skin structure where pigment is applied. However, changes in skin structure are not the same as visible scarring. Scars typically result from excessive pressure and can occur with any technique. This is most common on skin types that have difficulty retaining pigment, as artists may reflexively apply more pressure instead of performing additional passes. Excessive pressure on the skin not only increases the risk of scarring but also raises the chance of pigment spreading under the skin, causing a blurring effect.

How long does it take to learn the BB Stroke technique?

Mastering the BB Stroke method typically takes around 6 months of consistent practice. Compared to microblading, it requires more time to perfect, but it is significantly quicker to learn than the hairstroke technique.

Is the BB Stroke work precise?

Just like with machine techniques, the range of precision and the thickness of strokes are unlimited. In microblading, only precise work is acceptable, which can be quite limiting, as certain parts of the eyebrow require different stroke thicknesses to achieve a natural look.

Can strokes be crossed?

Yes, very easily and much faster than with any other method.

How does the work look after healing with the BB Stroke technique?

The healed result depends on many factors. It is equally important to have a responsible client who follows the aftercare procedure, good skin quality, and a skilled artist. The longevity of the result depends on the amount of pigment applied—the more pigment inserted, the longer the results will last. Additionally, skin type plays a role; for example, oily skin with high sebum production will typically have a shorter lifespan for the results.

Who is this method recommended for?

This method is ideal for beginners with no prior experience in other techniques. The vast majority of artists find it challenging to step out of their comfort zones and tend to stick to techniques they already know well. In the early 2010s, microblading was initially rejected by PMU artists and embraced by beginners with no prior experience. New methods often require new practitioners, not just in the PMU industry but across all fields. However, this technique is particularly well-suited for microblading artists because it employs a similar motion when creating strokes.

What skin type is the BB Stroke eyebrow shading technique recommended for?

The BB Stroke technique is suitable for all skin types.

Can I use the BB Pen without training?

In theory, yes, but there is a high risk that the results without training will be poor, simply because no PMU or microblading experience can be directly applied when using the BB Pen. It is strongly recommended to complete proper and professional training, either live or online, before using the BB Pen.
